What is Daily Mastery? Why Daily Mastery in the first place? When
I set out to create Daily Mastery, my goal was to help people live a
better life, and achieve their full potential if they so chose. Since I
was an engineer and scientist at heart, though, any way I would create
that had to be very practical, down to earth and easily replicable. I
knew it was about skills and practical steps people can do to align
their day-to-day lives with their goals. Showing
people how to easily and quickly transform this mis-organization into
optimal organization became the focus of Daily Mastery, both as a company and as a concept. What is Daily Mastery? Daily
Mastery is the optimal management of all your resources - time, space,
body, mind, emotions, staff, logistics, technology - for peaceful
productivity, or peak productivity without stress. In other words, Daily Mastery is a set of techniques, skills and tools that allow you to get more done, in less time - and most importantly without the stress. It ensures that the majority of what you do during the day is aligned with your real priorities and what you want, given the constraints you have right now. It also creates the space, both in terms of time and in terms of mental availability, to add to your life those elements you want but don’t have time for right now.
There
isn’t enough room here to outline all of them, but they are
roughly grouped in three main categories, that I call Make The Days
Count, Step Into Productivity and Live at Maximum Energy - Find Your
Own Peak Performance. Make the Days Count focuses on your personal habits and tools, fine-tuning them so that you use your time in exactly the way you want. Here we are in the realm of what is classically called time management, such as interruptions management, tasking, scheduling, planning, etc., as well as space management (time-waster if there is one, when things are not effectively organized). Step Into Productivity is about all the things that encroach on your time, energy and priorities, but are outside of your personal habits and tools. Some of the tools and techniques under this heading are pure productivity tools, techniques rarely taught yet highly effective in giving you more time to focus on what really counts; effectively dealing with others, logistically speaking (we don’t work on psychology and conflict-resolution, though. I can refer you to a specialist for that); setting processes and procedures, and effectively managing projects - both sources of untold wasted time and energy. Live at Maximum Energy - Find Your Peak Performance focuses on another, yet very important aspect of Daily Mastery. Indeed, how can you truly have the life you want if you are chronically tired, or partially burnt-out, or just operating at a fraction of what you can really do? So this third module is about managing your energy in all its forms: physical, mental, emotional, ‘spiritual’, and what I call forward momentum. Obviously this includes stress management, but goes much further, to teach you how to manage your energy at all times so that you always have enough, and you never find yourself in deficit. Do I need to take all these modules, and in order? Absolutely not.
If you look at the list of services and products that are available to
you, you’ll see that none of them is labeled as one of the
modules. Some programs or products focus on one or the other of those
modules, others on just one element within the modules, and yet others,
such as the programs designed for a specific profession or industry,
take the most effective elements within those three categories for the
profession or industry in question and presents them together. You can
pick and choose your programs "a la carte", and you can work in
whichever order you want. I do recommend that you focus on basic time
management (Make Your Days Count) first, though: as long as you
don’t fully control your day, the other techniques will be of
limited use. How do I start exploring more Daily Mastery? Two ways: In the menu at the top of this page, choose the item you are most interested in,
either according to your situation (professional, student, mother,
manager/executive/business owner), or what you want to focus on
(personal productivity or operational productivity). Or (and and) go to the articles and resources, where you can find a lot of free information, and sign up for Daily Mastery and You, which sends you tips, information and resources on a weekly basis. Finally, also check the calendar of events, where you’ll be able to choose some free or low-cost events to attend, either in person or remotely. I’m looking forward to meeting you very soon!
